Adrien Charles Duval is a Barrister at Sir Gaetan Duval QC Chambers. He holds an LLB Law Degree from the University of Kent (UK), has been trained for the Bar Professional Training Course at the College of Law, London and was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2013 and to the Mauritian Bar in 2014. He is also a member of Gray’s Inn, UK.
Since being called to the Bar, Adrien has built up a wide practice ranging from civil, corporate and international law. He advises private individuals, domestic and foreign companies, Global Business companies, Investment Funds and civil bodies and associations. In the course of his practice, he regularly advises on deal structuring, mergers and acquisitions; setting up and restructuration of companies, insolvency and winding up proceedings; establishment of Mauritius domiciled funds and trusts; licenses and permits applications and regulated activities framework; investor, company and labour migration; industrial relations and employment related matters.
Adrien also has a thriving litigation practice in matters of public and administrative law, civil, commercial and employment law, appearing as counsel on behalf of companies and individual clients in matters relating to contractual and tortious claims, insolvency proceedings, employment related disputes, review of decisions of public bodies / authorities and seeking of injunctive reliefs before the Judiciary of Mauritius. In fact, Adrien regularly appears as litigator before all Courts in Mauritius in both civil and criminal jurisdictions as well as before specialised Tribunals, in matters of taxation, land use, redundancy and employment relations.
